In a world with a new scientific feat or discovery every other day, it can be challenging to navigate how we approach the idea of creation and a creator God. How does the Catholic faith interact with modern science? How ought we as faithful Catholics and Christians interact with modern science?

On August 7th, 2024, Gerber Institute is proud to be hosting Christopher Baglow, a respected Catholic speaker specializing in the intersection of faith and science, to present on this topic. He’s currently the Director of the Science & Religion Initiative for the McGrath Institute for Church Life.

The title of his presentation is The Widest Wisdom: Retrieving the Christian Doctrine of Creation. He proposes that, “In this talk we will consider the four ‘marks’ of the Christian doctrine of creation, and how modern science allows us to perceive their relevance in a new and deeper way.”

You can read more about Dr. Baglow at his website here. He is also a published author, with titles such as “Faith, Science, and Reason” and “Creation: a Catholic’s Guide to the Universe,” as well as being a featured author in multiple Word on Fire Institute projects.

This talk is open to the public with free admission. It will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, at 7:00pm, in the Dugan Gorges Conference Center at Newman University.
