Caleb Kuestersteffen was selected as the recipient of the first Bishop Gerber Award for Excellence in Catholic Scholarship.  Kuestersteffen submitted a paper entitled “Understanding and Evangelizing the Contemporary Pragmatic Relativist”. The award, which includes a plaque and $250, was presented on April 17th by Fr. John Fogliasso.  Interested in reading the winning paper?

Kuestersteffen says, “This work directly engages with many aspects of Catholic tradition.  It does so directly by engaging and applying the Catholic understanding of individual human conscience through the tradition of St. Thomas Aquinas and Bl. John Henry Newman.  It does so indirectly in its effort to critically engage with a popular aspect of modern thought (relativism).  My paper works to recognize the good, discard the bad, and uphold the inherent dignity of all parties involved.”
